Finger Foods (and the difficulty of)

As you can see from today's picture of the day, we've started Eila on some finger foods. Her current favorite is "Oat O's" from Whole Foods.

Just like anyone else doing anything for the first time, Eila has had a bit of difficulty transferring food from table to mouth. She has no problem (or very few problems) actually grabbing the food with her hands. The issues arise one she gets it to her mouth. Eila doesn't actually let go of what she's holding on to.

Eila will: bring something to her mouth, open her mouth, close her mouth around her fingers and the food, take hand and food away, start chewing (or gumming) nothing. Later, she will notice that she still has food in her hand and try again and again. Sometimes she'll get it right, though.

It's very strange.
