So, we were grocery shopping today and our sweet little angel leaned over the edge of the basket and tried to climb out. When she was halted in her attempt to escape her shopping cart prison, she let out loud, long wails drawing the attention of everyone within three aisles of us. She continued her protests at top volume, until suddenly she noticed that she could reach a shelf and grab some of the contents.
The adorable Eila Rose has been labeled by some as "strong-willed," pointing to her loud, angry outbursts when moved in a way contrary to her plan, or when the fridge is closed before she is able to empty it completely, or when she is prohibited from eating dirt or playing in the garbage.
Some would say that her flailing arms and kicking legs accompanied by the backwards head throw in response to a "No, Eila!" are proof of her less than compliant attitude, but as her mother, I refuse to label her just yet.
I may be in denial, but I think she is still too young for temper trantrums and is just a little baby unable to use the words that would help us understand her frustrations at not being allowed to totally rule the world.

Ah, the joys of parenthood...
Sounds like your little one is a huddled mass yearning to be free.
