"I can't see. My eye is broken! My eye! My eye is broken!" Eila screams from her bedroom a while after lights out. "I can't see!"
Papa suggests: "It might help if you open your eyes."
"I can't. It doesn't work." Eila cries as she attempts to obey her Papa.
"What happened?" asks Brian.
"Josiah poked me in the eye!"
Daddy quickly wonders, "with what?"
"His finger." Eila continues to sob.
After comforting and verifying that her eye is indeed still working, Daddy concludes with, "If you didn't climb on him in his bed, he probably wouldn't poke you." to which Eila calmly responds "I know."

And it begins... Eila talks about Hannah Montana, the ultimate big girl princess/ballerina in her opinion, nonstop (that is when she isn't telling someone what to do). She wants to sing like Hannah Montana. She wants Hannah Montana clothes and a wig. She would especially like a Hannah Montana swimsuit and pajamas. She wants to have a Hannah Montana party. Eila is requesting to watch Hannah Montana on youtube. When we went shopping this week, she spotted a Hannah Montana poster from across the store and we just *had* to check it out. Eila still adores princesses and ballerinas, but Hannah Montana is what her older cousins like!

Wearing sun dresses throughout the winter is only one sign of Eila's desire for summer to arrive. This week, we made a thorough search and found her swimsuit so that we are ready when summer finally comes. She picked out a tank top for me to wear and was in tears when I suggested that it might be too cold outside for that shirt (but I'm wearing it now - with a sweater).
With our first warm, sunny day in months, Eila asked for the car windows to be rolled down all the way and enjoyed the wind in her hair. We went on several walks, played in the sandbox, danced in the grass, and listened to the birds.
Eila keeps asking to visit her friends - at the park. We will soon. She is ready for the fun, lazy days of summer to begin!
