Eila is officially a big girl now, but she promises that she will always be Mommy's little girl. To celebrate this momentous occasion, Eila had a very special tea party with her cousins, Kaitrin, Rachel, and Claire, and their American Girl dolls at the Sweet Afton Tea Room. They followed this up with playing fairies and lots of dancing and cheerleading.
Eila made all sorts of plans for eating in honor of her special day; so, we visited all her favorite restaurants: Sushi Ko, Dim Sum (Shangri La), Olga's, Red Robin (for a birthday sundae). She also requested The Breakfast Club, but we made waffles at home instead. We also made a lemon cake at Eila's request and enjoyed it with lemonade in her new tea set.
She told me recently that she doesn't need to be tucked in anymore, but if we really want to read her stories and sing songs, it's okay with her. Eila is very proud of the fact that she was invited to join the Mega Stars class in gymnastics. Her room is messier than ever and she continues to change her clothes several times an hour. She is very helpful around the house and now that she is five will start getting an allowance each week.
